Unfriendly Oyam Mock Examination Results Out

The mock examinations result of Oyam district in Lango sub-region is out but poorly performed.

The Oyam District education officer Mr Francis Olek Ochero told The Ankole Times on Friday Morning that out of 7014 P7 candidates who sat for mock examinations recently only, 68 emerged in first grade, 539 got division two, 523 got third grade, 994 got first grade, those who failed[u]were 464 and a total of 614 did not sit for the mock examinations.

The DEO Is now worried that there may be poor performance in the forthcoming PLE examinations in Oyam because most parents are reluctant about their children’s education.

Francis requested leaders to work together for the future of children studying in Oyam if they want education fruits to yield in Oyam Of tomorrow or for a better education outcome at the end of this year.

The Ankole Times talked to a number of Headteachers from different parts of Oyam district whose blames were numerous as per the results.

Mr Jimmy Aromo the head teacher of Anyeke P/S blamed parents for not taking their children in time so that syllabus coverage is done in time by teachers of P7 class.

Mr Alex Okonya, the head teacher of Wiagaba primary school in Otwal sub-county, said the Ministry of education and sports should help government-aided schools with more learning materials in time for upper classes in order for them to catch up with private schools in terms of performance.
