Excitement in Kitgum As FUFA Drum Created More Unity Between Acholi and Lango

The Acholi Province Football team commonly known as“KODI PA LYECI” have made it to the semi-final stage of the on-going 2022 FUFA Drum Football tournament.

Acholi Province team defeated Buganda Province 2-1 in the first quarter final played at the Bomah Grounds,Kitgum Municipality on Sunday in the Northern Region of Uganda.

Hundreds and thousands of supporters attended the match where Bomah ground Kitgum was full to capacity, booming business within and around Kitgum Municipality was made to maximum.

FUFA president, Moses Magogo commended the people of Acholi Sub Region for expressing love of the game and requested key dignitaries and people of different calibers who attended the match, to make use of the tournament by identifying skillful players in order to reinstate a regional team to play in the Uganda Premier League in future.

Several members of parliament from Acholi sub region attended the match and they included; The State minister for environment Beatrice Atim Anywar, MP Denis Onekalit of Kitgum Municipality), Kilak South MP Gilbert Olanya ,Hom MP Lillian Aber (for Kitgum Woman) and Nancy Achora (Lamwo MP), MP Amos Okot (Agago North county)and Hon. MP Anywar Ricky Richard of [Agago West County] In attendance were the LCV of Acholi sub-region,RDCs And deputy RDCs of Acholi sub region among opthers.

Kitgum woman MP Aber Lillian ,has called upon all leaders in Acholi and Lango sub region to rally supports to the management and players of Lango province and Acholi province as quarter final reaches climax.

Aber was speaking to The Ankole Times yesterday from Kitgum Bomah ground, Kitgum Municipality in Northern Uganda as Acholi province beats Buganda 2-1.

‘This time round on the 24 Septemberr 2022,we shall turn up in big number to support Lango province in Bugishu region to moral boost and show northern heart of brotherhood to them ‘said Aber.

The Agago West County Mp Anywar Ricky Richard told our reporter that, this time they shall escort and support our brothers in Lango to Mbale on the September 24th 2022 to a higher level to show unity in Northern Uganda.

‘I call upon all MPs in Lango sub region to copy the level of support in that we gave to our players in Kitgum on Sunday’said Anywar Ricky.

Among Other Games yet to come in the other quarter final matches of the tournament are; West Nile hosting Kampala Province in Arua City on September 18th, Bugisu will welcome Lango Province in Mbale on September 24th and Teso Versus Tooro Province in Bukedea on the September 24th.
