Excitement is building among the parishioners of Christ the King Church Kampala as they eagerly await the grand opening, re-dedication, and blessing of their newly-built church located on Plot 14, Colville Street. The highly anticipated event is scheduled for this Saturday, November 18, 2023, with activities kicking off at 10:00 am, featuring a Pontifical mass presided over by the Most Rev. Paul Ssemogerere, the Archbishop of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala.
Construction and expansion of the impressive 1700-seater Christ the King Church commenced in 2017, culminating in the completion of the project. The parish-priest, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Gerald Kalumba, revealed that the estimated cost of the project was Ugx21 billion (twenty-one billion shillings), and all funds were generously contributed by the dedicated parishioners.
