Former Radio Simba “Wolokoso” presenter and YouTuber Gerald Seguya Lubega, popularly known as Kakalaamu Da Answer, had established strong ties with Uganda’s leading opposition party, the National Unity Platform (NUP). Known for attending party meetings and rubbing shoulders with key leaders, including Leader of Opposition Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi, Kakalaamu was considered close to the party.
Speculations arose about his political affiliation, fueled by his friendship with Kaye Wisdom, who dubbed himself the unofficial NUP spokesperson in various Vlogs. Unbeknownst to many, Kakalaamu had plans to run for a political office in Kayunga district in 2026. However, he altered his course and left the country to seek opportunities in Canada.
During a Vlog chat with Ibrah K Mukasa, also based in Canada, Kakalaamu revealed his initial intention to contest in the 2026 elections, focusing on addressing land grabbing issues in his home village of Kayunga. However, since relocating to Canada, he has decided not to return and pursue his political aspirations.
