The incident was reported to the Division Police Commander (DPC), Lira-City West Division, at approximately 03:00 hours on January 1, 2024, by Mr. Owani Denis, 33 years old. In a swift response, the Fire Brigade and Rescue Services promptly arrived at the scene to combat and extinguish the fire.
Unfortunately, the fire resulted in substantial damage to several properties, and the exact extent of the destruction is yet to be determined. A comprehensive investigation into the cause of the fire is underway, with an official case of a fire outbreak duly registered at Lira-City West Division.
The Scene of Crime was meticulously documented by Soco Lira City West, pending the assessment report by the management to ascertain the full extent of the damages incurred.
