The Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese, Rt Rev Samuel Kahuma, has called on clergy members to refrain from internal strife as the process of selecting his successor unfolds. During an interview with Kabalega FM, Bishop Kahuma emphasized the importance of avoiding conflicts over leadership positions, stating that such disputes can hinder the service to the Lord Jesus Christ.
He urged Christians to pray for peace and wisdom during the Synod’s search for his successor, emphasizing that the selected committee’s role is to nominate candidates for consideration by the House of Bishops. The retiring bishop’s message centered on maintaining respect and unity in Bunyoro during the transition.
A committee has been established to identify nominees, and eligibility criteria include ordination as priests with at least ten years of pastoral experience, a minimum age of 45, and a theological or divinity degree.
