Blea Niwamanya, a 26-year-old security guard employed by Cheetah Security Company, has been presented before Makindye Grade One Magistrate Igga Adiru and subsequently remanded to prison in connection with the alleged murder of a woman. Niwamanya, a resident of Kibaati zone in Makindye, Kampala, appeared before Adiru, who was filling in for Chief Magistrate Ann Sarah Basemera.

The prosecution contends that on December 21, 2023, at Beverly Hills Hotel in Kansanga, Makindye, Niwamanya, with malice aforethought, caused the death of Nantongo Ramula Ann Trisha. The incident unfolded when Niwamanya, who was on duty guarding the premises, responded to a colleague’s call for assistance in removing Kon Paul, a Sudanese national causing a disturbance at the hotel.

During the course of removing Kon Paul, an altercation ensued, leading to a struggle for Niwamanya’s firearm. In the process, a bullet was discharged, fatally striking Nantongo Ramula Ann Trisha.
