Renowned presenter Evelyn Mic, known for her roles on Galaxy FM and Spark TV, recently ignited a heated online debate with her assertion that providing Ugx 50,000 after a date is insufficient, urging men to elevate their financial gestures.

In the midst of this online controversy, Evelyn highlighted the considerable investments women make in themselves merely to attend a date. She argued that receiving a modest sum that doesn’t cover even half of their expenses is unjust given the efforts and costs involved.

Evelyn broke down the financial aspects, citing an outfit alone costing a woman around 200,000 Ugandan Shillings, coupled with a makeup expenditure of 70,000 Shillings. Adding an Uber ride, an additional 30,000 Shillings, and factoring in the invaluable element of her time, she shed light on the significant financial commitments.

This outspoken perspective from Evelyn Mic triggered a flurry of reactions within the online community. Some labeled her as materialistic and financially demanding, while others countered that clear communication of expectations might be more straightforward than burdening men with expensive demands.

Critics suggested that seeking financial independence through employment could be a more sustainable approach, emphasizing the importance of open dialogue in navigating expectations and expenses in the realm of dating.
