The share price of Stanbic saw a notable increase of 1.56%, closing at sh32.50 in Monday’s trading session at the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE). The positive movement in Stanbic’s shares contributed to the overall market dynamics for the day.
On the other hand, MTN experienced a marginal decrease of 0.01%, settling at sh170 per share. Umeme, Airtel Uganda, and Uganda Clays Limited (UCL) maintained stable trading positions at sh400, sh94, and sh13, respectively.
In total, five counters participated in Monday’s session, generating a turnover of sh24.5 million from 162,316 shares, as reported by Crested Capital. MTN led the trading activity, accounting for 50.27% of the overall turnover, with trades valued at sh12.3 million. Umeme recorded a trading volume of sh9.7 million, while Stanbic dealt with sh1.9 million.
Airtel Uganda and Uganda Clays Limited (UCL) exchanged sh540,000 and sh13,949, respectively.
The USE All Share Index (ALSI) closed 0.20% higher at 889.29, reflecting the positive market sentiment during the trading day. Additionally, the C11 – Crested’s local companies’ index showed a gain of 0.23%, reaching 98.89.
