Haniisha Munameed Nakate, the versatile star player for She Cranes, left spectators in awe with her dazzling performance on her debut for Surrey Storm Netball Club in England. The club triumphed over Team Bath with a commanding score of 68-37 in a preseason game, with Nakate playing in defence for a full 60 minutes. Her outstanding performance earned her the Player of the Match award.
In an interview with Vision Sports, Nakate expressed her optimism about a bright future in the Vitality Netball League.
“When I started playing netball at 15 years old, everyone despised my abilities due to my body structure. Such words used to piss me off, but they pushed me to work hard, and I was determined to disapprove of them. That’s why when I’m playing, I put in more effort, and it is just the beginning; I’m going far,” Nakate said.
Nakate is currently one of the 13 players from She Cranes in England, preparing to face Wales in a three-test series at the House of Sport Arena in Cardiff from January 20 to 28.
