In his maiden speech during the plenary session on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, the 36-year-old Nakawa West MP emphasized the importance of effective execution of this mandate, seeking support not only from fellow MPs but also from the wider public.
Ssenyonyi, who succeeded Mathias Mpuuga, expressed his determination to navigate the intricate political dynamics and effectively represent the collective interests of the Opposition. He acknowledged the scrutiny his leadership would face, especially in handling controversial government Bills, including those related to land and constitutional amendments.
