Nakivubo Stadium, the newly constructed multi-sports complex by businessman Hamis Kiggundu, is set to host the highly anticipated kickboxing trilogy between Moses Golola and Umar Semata. The announcement marks this trilogy as the first major combat sport event to take place at the state-of-the-art facility, with the epic showdown scheduled for May this year, pending confirmation of the exact date.

Businessman Hamis Kiggundu expressed his enthusiasm for hosting such a significant event at Nakivubo Stadium, emphasizing its accessibility to all Ugandans. He stated, “Nakivubo Stadium is for all Ugandans. The ball is now in their hand to see how they must utilize it to the fullest. Golola is undoubtedly Uganda’s kickboxing legend who deserves more. This time it has to be something much bigger.”

Prior to the official announcement, Moses Golola had the opportunity to train at the uHam Fitness and Boxing Gym, located within the newly inaugurated stadium. Golola, known for his outspoken nature, praised Kiggundu’s transformative impact on Nakivubo and his substantial contribution to the sports sector.

“The magnitude of how Ham has changed Nakivubo is unmatched, unrivaled, and unequaled,” Golola remarked. “I’m humbled that the big man has endorsed my trilogy with Semata. I have already started my training and can’t wait to send this Katwe-Lipanda short man into retirement.”

Yasin Kiggundu, head of accounting at Ham Group of Companies and brother to Hamis Kiggundu, expressed their readiness for the event, emphasizing the familial bond with many boxers and kickboxers in the country. He stated, “Many of the boxers and kickboxers in the country are like brothers to us. I have little to add on, but my guarantee is we are waiting for this D-day.”

Umar Semata, confident in his abilities, spoke about the upcoming trilogy, expressing gratitude to Hamis Kiggundu for pioneering the event. Semata confidently stated, “I have waited for this chance, and finally, Golola has answered my prayers. I commend Hajji Hamis Kiggundu for pioneering this. I can confirm to him I’m going to knock out Golola. He is now a mismatch for me.”

The Golola-Semata rivalry, characterized by fierce competition, has captivated fans over the years. Having faced off twice in 2018 and 2019 at Freedom City in Najjanankumbi, Kampala, their matchups have left fans eagerly anticipating this third and potentially final installment of their trilogy.
