On Saturday marked a significant historical moment at Bugembe Stadium, Jinja, as the Bazzukulu of Mzee Kaguta Museveni launched The Bazzukulu Liberation Cup.
The tournament, scheduled to run for 6 days from January 20th to 25th, has been earmarked as the Cup to unite the youths in the great Busoga sub region, revamp NRM support in the region, and make youths appreciate the great contributions of the NRA fighters in the restoration of peace and stability that Ugandans enjoy today.
The tournament was officially launched by the Chief Muzzukulu, Uzeiye Hadijah Namyalo, Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, and National Coordinator ONC, accompanied by the National Coordinator in charge of Sport, ONC, Mr. Seth Murari.
In her remarks, Uzeiye emphasized ONC’s commitment to supporting young people, encouraged youths to be disciplined, and embrace government programs as a strategy to end poverty in Busoga.
The National Coordinator in charge of sports ONC, Mr. Seth Murari, encouraged players to love sports, train hard, and engage in sports as a business. Citing examples of world players who have earned money through sports and changed their lives, he encouraged players to be disciplined and focused.
“We have many people here who can play for the Uganda Cranes and also European football. ONC is here to identify you, support you to promote your talent, and lobby for opportunities for you to play in big leagues,” Mr. Seth Murari emphasized.
The participants from the entire Busoga pledged to fully cooperate with Hadijah Namyalo and ONC to achieve the agenda of Mzee Museveni in the 2026 ballot.
