Results for the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) 2023 will be accessible on the examination center portals, allowing schools to download them promptly upon official release. Additionally, District, Municipal, and City Inspectors of Schools can obtain hard copies from UNEB offices at Ntinda starting Monday, January 29, 2024. Currently, no physical copies are available. Parents, candidates, and interested parties can use Short Messaging Service (SMS) on mobile networks for instant result notifications.
Inquiries can be made via SMS or WhatsApp to 0760 731 261 or 0776 865 556, or by calling the UNEB toll-free line at 0800 211077.
Regarding examination malpractice, UNEB, guided by Section 5(2)(b) of the UNEB Act, 2021, will withhold the results of affected candidates pending investigations. The Board’s tribunal, the Examinations Security Committee, will provide a fair hearing before making final decisions. Once tribunal hearings conclude, UNEB will publish the list of districts and schools with cancelled results.
Executive Director Dan Odongo has expressed concern about the high number of candidates in Division U (Ungraded), urging a thorough investigation into causes and necessary interventions. Performance in 2023, with a higher proportion passing in Division 3 and above, remains comparable to 2022. Division U is awarded to candidates failing to meet the minimum level for at least a Division 4, rendering them ineligible for Senior 1 class admission.
