Muhanga Golden Nursery and Primary School in Muhanga Town Council, Rukiga District, is planning to acquire a coaster bus to facilitate field trips and transport children to and from the school.

This decision was disclosed and endorsed by the school management committee yesterday during the farewell party for staff celebrating the 2023 results.

Muhanga Golden Nursery and Primary School, situated on Muhanga Kisizi Road, achieved the second-highest ranking in the entire district of Rukiga in 2023.

Jacklyn Nkamushaba, a board member and LC5 councilor representing Muhanga Town Council, spoke to our reporter after the farewell party held on the school premises. She emphasized that the school van would not only benefit the school but also Muhanga and Rukiga at large.

She took the opportunity to encourage parents and students to return to school on February 5, 2024.

Oscar Akampurira, the school director who also serves as the Rukiga District speaker, attributed the high performance to the dedication of his staff, supportive parents, and the conducive learning environment at the school, which facilitated the students’ academic focus.

He further mentioned that students from distant areas such as Rwentobo, Rwahii, Bukinda, Kamwezi, Kabale, among others, have faced challenges attending school due to the long distances without daily transportation.

The school’s head teacher expressed great joy at the prospect of the school van, believing it will address challenges encountered during their field trips.
