Letshego Uganda Grants Sh20m Bursary to Maryhill High School Student

Letshego Uganda has announced Fortunate Atuhairwe as the recipient of its prestigious education bursary for the year 2024. This initiative reflects Letshego’s ongoing commitment to improving lives and supporting education within the communities it serves.

Atuhairwe was chosen for her exceptional performance in the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) at Kyabuhambo Primary School in Buhweju district, where she achieved a remarkable four aggregates.




The announcement of Letshego’s bursary comes as a significant boon for Atuhairwe, granting her a four-year sponsorship at the renowned Maryhill High School. This gesture underscores Letshego’s dedication to providing equal opportunities for personal and professional growth, thereby fostering a more inclusive society.




Giles Aijukwe, the CEO of Letshego, emphasized the transformative impact of investing in education, stating that it not only benefits individuals but also uplifts entire communities. By offering comprehensive bursaries, Letshego aims to empower marginalized individuals like Atuhairwe to realize their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society.




The bursary awarded to Atuhairwe covers her tuition expenses at Maryhill High School from Senior 1 to 4, alleviating the financial burden on her family and enabling her to pursue her dream of becoming a medical doctor without hindrance.

Incorporating sustainability into its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives allows Letshego to address pressing social and environmental challenges, thereby enhancing the overall well-being of society.

The news of Atuhairwe’s bursary was met with joy and gratitude by her family, with her mother, Immaculate Komugisha, expressing heartfelt appreciation to Letshego for the opportunity bestowed upon her daughter. She remarked, “We are thrilled by this news; this is God’s grace. Our girl will continue making us proud as she grows to bigger things. Thank you Letshego.”
