Following her reelection for a second term, Wendy Angudeyo is gearing up to host the Lady Captain’s Prize event at the Uganda Golf Club this weekend, with over 200 golfers set to compete.
The Lady Captain’s Prize event, a tradition marking the end of each term, signifies the transition from the outgoing executive to the new executive. The UGC Ladies Section recently held an Annual General Meeting on March 7th, concluding the term of the Lady Captain and her team.
Expressing her gratitude, Wendy Angudeyo, the UGC Lady Captain, stated, “I have served as UGC Lady Captain for one year so far, and I am happy to have been reelected to serve for a second year. I enjoyed my first year, and I have grown into the role. I am grateful to the outgoing team for all the work they put in to make my tenure a success. I will continue the good work with the new team. I invite all golfers to come and enjoy this tournament.”
The newly elected executive comprises Wendy Angudeyo (Lady Captain), Sarah Nduhukire (Vice Lady Captain), Hon. Patience Nkunda (Secretary), Berna Musanabera (Treasurer), and Flavia Namakula (Competitions Secretary).
Simon Lapyem, UBL Innovations Projects Manager, expressed congratulations to Wendy and her team on her reelection, emphasizing support for women breaking barriers in various sectors, including sports.
The UGC Lady Captain’s Prize event is supported by partners and sponsors, including KCB Bank, Pepsi, Wandaz Products Ltd, Gorilla Heights Lodge, Case Medical Services, Kenya Airways, Orchard Interiors, WhiteCap Crisp, and NBS Sport.
As anticipation builds for the event, golf enthusiasts and participants are eagerly looking forward to a weekend of camaraderie and competition on the greens of the Uganda Golf Club.
