Maj. Gen Jim Muhwezi, a prominent figure within the National Resistance Movement (NRM), recently took to his village in Kagunga to personally verify his membership status and that of his family members in the NRM Online yellow book. His visit aimed to encourage all NRM members to update their membership details for accuracy and completeness. Additionally, he urged local council leaders (LCs) to facilitate the registration and enrollment of new members into the party.
In his message, Maj. Gen Jim Muhwezi emphasized the importance of maintaining up-to-date membership records within the NRM. By ensuring that membership details are accurate and current, the party can effectively engage with its members and strengthen its organizational structure. Moreover, updated membership information enables the NRM to better understand the demographics and preferences of its supporter base, thereby informing its policies and strategies.
The NRM Online yellow book serves as a comprehensive database of party members, containing essential information such as names, addresses, contact details, and membership status. Regularly updating this database is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the party’s membership system and fostering transparency within its ranks. It also facilitates communication between the party leadership and its grassroots members, enabling effective mobilization and coordination of activities.
Encouraging LCs to play an active role in facilitating the registration and enrollment of new members demonstrates the NRM’s commitment to inclusivity and grassroots participation. By engaging local leaders in the membership verification process, the party can reach out to individuals in communities across the country, ensuring that every eligible citizen has the opportunity to join the NRM and contribute to its vision and mission.
Maj. Gen Jim Muhwezi’s initiative to personally verify his membership status sets a positive example for other party members to follow. By taking proactive steps to update their membership details, NRM members demonstrate their commitment to the party’s values and objectives. Moreover, their participation in the membership verification process strengthens the NRM’s unity and cohesion, reinforcing its position as Uganda’s leading political movement.
