Kween District, Uganda — In a dramatic turn of events, the Kween District woman member of Parliament, Cherukut Rose Emma, also known as Pakalast, has successfully cleared a contentious loan with Chelogoi Motors. The loan, totaling 195 million shillings, had been the subject of intense scrutiny and accusations.
The Loan Controversy
Cherukut Rose Emma, a prominent figure in Kween District politics, found herself embroiled in a battle over the ownership of her house. The loan, initially taken from Kiplangat Jacob, the man behind Chelogoi Motors, had raised eyebrows due to its alleged irregularities.
According to reports, Chelogoi Motors had surreptitiously transferred the ownership of Hon. Emma’s house without her knowledge. The situation escalated further when Emma accused Chelogoi of sponsoring false news, claiming that he was demanding an exorbitant sum of 700 million shillings from her.
Chelogoi, on the other hand, accused Emma of defaulting on her loan payments, leading to a protracted battle.
The loan was cleared at Centenary Bank Ntinda, with the transfer of ownership from Chelogoi Motors to Emma.
In a brief statement, Chelogoi Motors acknowledged the settlement. The resolution brings an end to a bitter dispute that had captured the attention of Kween District residents and the Sebei region at large.
