A significant Indian delegation focused on investment and business has arrived in Uganda with the aim of exploring various potential ventures. Comprising 60 individuals, the delegation includes representatives from the Indian government, chambers of commerce and industry, as well as businesses spanning multiple sectors such as agriculture, agro-processing, ICT, healthcare, automotive, solar energy, education, and infrastructure.

Upon the delegation’s arrival on April 8, Hon. Evelyn Anite, the State Minister of Finance (Privatisation and Investment), extended a warm welcome. Expressing optimism, she highlighted the potential for Indian entrepreneurs to transfer knowledge and skills to Uganda, ultimately contributing to job creation in the country.

Dammu Ravi, the Secretary (Economic Relations) in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, emphasized that the delegation’s primary objective is to explore opportunities for collaboration with local companies across various sectors. He underscored the importance of this visit not only in strengthening bilateral ties between Uganda and India but also in unlocking new avenues for collaborative ventures beneficial to both nations.
