In response to misconceptions surrounding the President’s directive regarding the suspension of penalties for non-compliance with the Electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing Solution (EFRIS), the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has issued a statement clarifying that the use of EFRIS has not been halted.
The directive specifically targets individuals involved in general trade, particularly those operating in commercial centers like Kikuubo and similar business hubs across the country. Despite the directive, URA reassures taxpayers that they will continue to receive guidance and support in the process of onboarding onto the EFRIS platform.
The business community is strongly encouraged to continue utilizing EFRIS, as it offers numerous benefits including stock management, sales management, return filing, and refund management. By embracing EFRIS, businesses can enhance their operational efficiency and compliance with tax regulations.
