The Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has advised Ugandans to take advantage of the numerous poverty alleviation government programs to lift themselves out of poverty. In a speech delivered by the 4th Division Commander, Brig. Gen. Felix Busizoli, on behalf of the Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi informed Ugandans that the NRM government has implemented several poverty alleviation programs aimed at eradicating poverty in Uganda.
Brig. Gen. Felix Busizoli represented the Chief of Defence Forces at the coronation of His Royal Highness Opi Bakole Tayir of Parego Morcha in Obongi district, held at Aringajobi Primary School in Aliba sub-county, Obongi district.
General Muhoozi Kainerugaba emphasized that Ugandans can escape poverty by actively participating in government programs such as PDM, UWEP, YLP, GROW, and EMYOOGA. He specifically encouraged the youth to engage in these programs for socio-economic transformation, urging them to show respect to elders and leaders as a pathway to blessings and success in life.
General Muhoozi challenged the newly installed Paramount Chief, His Royal Highness Opi Bakole Tayir of Parego Morcha, to unite the people of Obongi for socio-economic development. In response, His Royal Highness Opi Bakole Tayir thanked the NRM government for its efforts in restoring cultural leadership in Uganda and pledged to unify the people of Obongi while utilizing government programs to combat poverty.
Mr. Manga Charles, the regional coordinator of MK and PLU in Madi sub-region, expressed gratitude to the NRM government for Uganda’s development initiatives and promised to collaborate with Paramount Chief His Royal Highness Opi Bakole Tayir to advance the development of Obongi district.
The last Paramount Chief of Parego Morcha was installed in 1914.
