Kyoga North Aspirant George Rember Okello’s Impressive Profile Unveiled

Patrick Okidi, Amolatar – UPC aspirant for Kyoga North constituency, George Rember Okello, listed his extensive profile while speaking one-on-one with our reporter from Amolatar Town Council in Amolatar district on Monday.

According to his background, George Rember Okello was born in 1979 in Chakwara, Etam Town Council, Kyoga North Constituency. He began his primary education in 1986 at Chakwara Primary School and later Akol Primary School, completing his Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) at Chakwara Primary School in 1994. He proceeded to Amolatar Secondary School for his lower secondary education and later attended Royal Academy for Higher Education, where he pursued a teaching professional course to become a secondary school teacher. He served at various schools including Amuca SDA SS, Lango College, Dara Christian High School, Aputi SS, and Akalo SS. Concurrently, he pursued higher education at Makerere University for his Bachelor’s degree, Fountainhead Institute, Law Development Center Kampala, Missouri University, and Isbat University.




George Rember served as an Ambassador for MySchoolsNetwork-Netherlands and was elected President of YouthNet-Africa, among other leadership positions he has held since childhood. His extensive profile is inspiring, challenging, and motivating, showcasing leadership charisma and skills that have influenced many leaders in Uganda and beyond.




He has dedicated himself to fostering development in Amolatar, Northern Uganda, Uganda, and Africa as a whole. He actively participated in the formation of Amolatar district since its planning for district status began in 2006, attending meetings at Lira District Chamber organized by local leaders and elders of Kioga County. He supported youth and farmer groups in Amolatar district from 2010 onwards and advocated for conservation efforts, including tree planting in public places and schools.




As a professional teacher, he taught at Aputi SS and notably coached the Amolatar team to win the First Trophy in the National Coca-Cola Tournament held in Nvara-Arua in 2008.

George Rember also served as Executive Board Secretary of the Lango Tourism Cluster, facilitating the visit of the Minister of Tourism in 2016 to various sites in Lango including Namasale Ferry Landing site, Archways Agro Farm in Acii, and the Center of Uganda.

He has been actively involved in 12 different groups within his constituency and has connected many youth of Amolatar district to study opportunities and jobs since 2010. He has personally supported numerous children and youth from Amolatar in their educational pursuits and claims to have provided scholarships and bursaries to 46 youth of Kyoga North since 2021.
