Lira City West Division MP, Hon. Obong Shedrick Vincent Eyit, has assured the people of Omito ward in Lira City West Division, Lira City, that they can rest assured of improved murram road construction starting next week.
He spoke recently while meeting several residents to discuss the progress of work on the murram road that will begin in Omito ward next week, undertaken by the Ministry of Works and Transport.
The 2 km murram road will link Bung “B” cell and Atodi cell, both located in Omito Ward, Lira City West Division, ending near the health center.
An LC one who spoke on condition of anonymity thanked MP Obong Eyit for this development and promised that as voters, they would rally behind him to return him to the 12th Parliament so he can continue his advocacy.
Odongo Ismail, another resident of the area, inquired about compensation for those whose land might be affected during the road opening process.
Ogwang Ronald congratulated MP Obong Eyit Shedrick for lobbying for the 2 kilometer road from the Ministry of Works and Transport, noting that previous leaders did not adequately address the needs of Omito ward as he is now doing. He urged the MP to assist with electricity connection, a pressing issue in the area.
Gloria Ocen highlighted that children at Alwak Primary School are not fully benefiting from the school and emphasized the need for additional fundraising for school development.
Obong Eyit Shedrick assured them that he would coordinate with the contractors working on the road in both Omito and Amuca respectively, as they are working in two different locations within a six-month period.
Obong Eyit Shedrick was accompanied by Obalim Gerald, an official from the Ministry of Works and Transport.
Hon. Obong Eyit congratulated Hon. Minister of Works and Transport, Gen. Katumba Wamala, for his support in ensuring that his (MP Obong’s) request was accepted and implemented.
