The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Obongi, Mr. Samuel Mpimbaza Hasaka, has ordered the reopening of Malanga Nursery and Primary School in Ewafa Sub-county. The school, which has over 200 pupils, was closed following a land dispute between the Alibura clan and the School Management Committee of Malanga Nursery and Primary School.

The RDC issued the directive to reopen the school during an emergency meeting convened by the Office of the RDC, following a petition by the LC3 Chairperson of Ewafa Sub-county, AK47.

The meeting was attended by members of the Alibura clan, Assistant RDC Umuhoza Habiba Furaha, LC3 Chairperson of Ewafa Sub-county AK47, members of the School Management Committee (SMC), and parents of Malanga Nursery and Primary School.

LC3 Chairperson AK47 informed the RDC that since the school closure, many children had resorted to fishing.

The RDC instructed the immediate reopening of the school and urged parents to ensure their children return to school promptly.
