President Museveni Boosts Bamasaba Imbalu Launch with 33 Cows and Financial Support

President Yoweri Museveni, who is expected to be the Chief Guest at the Imbalu official launch at the Mutoto Cultural Heritage Centre, has generously donated 33 cows to the Bamasaba community. These cows are to be distributed among the various clans in Masabaland, in addition to the financial support that is anticipated soon.

This was confirmed to this publication by the Inzu ya Masaba spokesperson, Mr. Steven Masiga, who emphasized that the Bamasaba are pleased with this presidential support to their cultural institution. The community is also eagerly awaiting other pledges, such as the construction of a palace. Mr. Masiga mentioned that President Museveni will address the people of Masabaland regarding the palace construction.

The Bamasaba people are looking forward to President Museveni’s presence as the Chief Guest during the upcoming Imbalu launch, which is expected to attract over 1,000,000 visitors from both within Uganda and beyond.

Mr. Masiga also noted that high-ranking dignitaries from countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, DRC, Swaziland, and Kenya are anticipated to attend.

According to the Inzu ya Masaba spokesperson, the 33 cows will be distributed among the 33 clans, including those in Kenya’s Bungoma and Kitale, which have significant cultural ties to the Bamasaba people of Uganda. Recently, a joint press briefing in Bungoma was led by the Prime Minister of Inzu ya Masaba, Rt. Hon. Charles Walimbwa Peke.

As a cultural institution, we will provide guidance on how the donated animals will be utilized. We expect each clan to slaughter and consume the meat during the Imbalu launch and not take the meat home, concluded Mr. Masiga.
