Four people died on the spot in a fatal accident that occurred on River Bukangara Bridge at Kyabisoro One village in Nyakiyumbu Sub-County, Kasese District.
A local resident, Mr. Modesto Kyangwesa, who rushed to the scene yesterday evening confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as:
- Late Mbale Funga, a popular pork dealer at Ndongo trading center in Bwera sub-county.
- Late Robert Syalihwamu, a resident of Kyabisoro Two village.
- Late Bahati Kalismart, a coffee buyer at Musyenene trading center.
- Late Moris Manasi, a boda-boda rider.
Although there has been no official statement from the police, preliminary reports indicate that the accident happened when a boda-boda rider carrying three passengers, traveling from Munkunyu to Nyakiyumbu sub-county, collided with a Fuso truck (UAX 848 M) transporting cassava flour from Nyakiyumbu to Munkunyu. The collision occurred while the vehicles were negotiating a sharp corner.
