Okidi Patrick, Obongi – Obongi District has received over 700 million Uganda Shillings for the construction of classrooms and VIP latrines. The funds, donated by Fin Church Aid, will be invested in Itula sub-county.

The over 700 million shillings will be used to construct four classroom blocks and three VIP latrines in Kali Central Primary School, Good Samaritan Primary School, and Luru Primary School, all located in Itula sub-county, Obongi District.

While performing ground-breaking ceremonies at the three schools, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Obongi, Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, thanked Fin Church Aid for their significant contribution to the development of the education sector in Obongi District. Accompanied by District Chairperson Haji Abibu Khemis Awadi, ARDC Umuhoza Habiba Furaha, and representatives from Fin Church Aid, the RDC cautioned contractors against substandard work.

District Chairperson Obongi Abibu Khemis Awadi expressed deep concern over the poor performance in the education sector, highlighting the fact that no Ugandan child achieved a first grade in the previous Primary Leaving Examination (PLE). The RDC added that the construction of all classroom blocks and toilets is expected to be completed within three months.
