Skyland High School is a fully registered institution with the Ministry of Education and Sports. It currently has a total of 32 teachers and an enrollment of 620 students.

According to Opio David Yung, the principal of the school, who spoke at length to The Ankole Times newspaper, “per month, they slaughter over 80 chickens from the school poultry farm for the students’ diet.”

Academically, in the 2023 UCE results, the school excelled, with 16 students passing in Division One, 23 in Second Grade, and 24 candidates passing in Third Grade.

This year, the school registered a total of 74 candidates to sit for the UCE exams. The level of discipline in the school is notable, with four qualified female teachers who counsel students, especially on behavioral change, every weekend. The school director also provides fatherly advice to all students every Friday during an organized assembly.

The school director, Moses Okello Okaka, is a renowned scholar and diplomat who has invested many years in education in the Lango sub-region. In an interview with our reporter, Director Moses added that he is also investigating the rearing of cattle and sheep on the school farm, which are indeed of improved breeds.

Furthermore, the relationship between the students and the school administrators is strong, contributing to improved performance in both academics and co-curricular activities. Skyland High School is located in Bala Sub-county, Kole District.
