The Woman MP for Obongi, Hon. Maneno Zumura, has congratulated the office of the RDC Obongi for mobilizing veterans in Obongi for socio-economic transformation.
Hon. Maneno Zumura was inspecting over 50 acres of land ploughed by the veterans in Obugubu Village, Liwa Parish, in Gimara Sub- County, Obongi District, where they have planted maize and rice using their own funds and efforts.
Hon. Zumura, who was accompanied by RDC Obongi Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka and ARDC Umuhoza Habiba Furaha, commended the 240 veterans for coming together to fight poverty and promote socio-economic transformation. She promised to support the veterans by providing them with tools and seedlings.
A 70-year-old man, identified only as Mohammad from Palorinya Sub-county, stated that the RDC has long demonstrated true leadership and should be recognized for being a strong NRM cadre.
RDC Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka thanked the Woman MP for visiting the veterans’ agricultural project, noting that she walked to inspect the over 50 acres ploughed by the veterans.
He also expressed gratitude to area MP Obongi Bokha Didi George for recently donating a tractor to the veterans free of charge.
The Chairperson of LC1 Obugubi announced that a decision has been made to allocate 10 acres of land to the Woman MP Hon. Maneno Zumura, in addition to the 30 acres given to the RDC, ARDC, and Town Clerk of Obongi Town Council, so they can also engage in socio-economic transformation.
