Child Fund International Invests in Early Childhood Education in Obongi District

Obongi district has received over 2.9 billion shillings from Child Fund International to improve ten early childhood development (ECD) centers in Itula subcounty.

The funds will be used to upgrade the existing ECD centers and enhance the livelihoods of the learners.




According to the project manager of Child Fund International, Mr. Nabasa Francis, the 2.9 billion shillings will be used for classroom renovations, fencing, professional teacher development, contributions to teachers’ salaries, and improvements to school financing by supporting center management committees to establish school gardening.




The RDC Obongi Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, accompanied by the DRDC Mr. Kyaze Frank, thanked Child Fund International for their support to Itula subcounty and called for transparency and accountability in the use of the funds.




The Obongi district leaders, OPM, and Child Fund International agreed to conduct joint monitoring of all ten ECD centers to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
