A lifeless body was recovered this morning from the River Nile near Laropi landing site in Moyo District. The deceased is suspected to have drowned and may have drifted from the Obongi side of the river.
Obongi Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka confirmed the incident and urged anyone missing a relative to report to the local authorities or nearest police station for identification.
Hashaka also emphasized the importance of wearing life jackets while using boats on the River Nile to prevent such tragic occurrences.
