A woman in Iganga has filed for divorce after winning over 400 million from Uganda Bettors Association Fixed games.
In a telephone interview with this publication, the woman only identified as Esther for security reasons narrated how she went on the journey to search of wealth.
“I have been married with this man for over 10 years but the marriage has been like hell on earth, I have suffered all kinds of beatings, I have tried leaving several times but I keep coming back because I had no foundation of starting life alone. One day, I was reading a story of a woman in Tororo who won a lot of money from sports betting, I was motivated by this story too much, I got my savings and went straight to ask these guys to help me with betting,”
“When I contacted them, they briefed me on what is needed, I paid for subscription and also sent them my stake to do it for me since I have no clue about betting, after staking, they told me to wait, they contacted me the following day with a screenshot of my ticket, they told me they were removing a certain percentage from my winnings since that’s how they earn too, I said it’s very fine with me. I sent them my bank details and money was deposited,”
“After receiving the money, I called my husband asking for a divorce, he was okay with it thinking that I have nowhere to start from but right now, he is over calling me asking for forgiveness after hearing that I won a lot of money, should I go back to this marriage?”
