Residents in Gombe, Nansana Municipality have been left in shock after a father aged 50 years decided to throw his son to the local council authorities accusing him of allegedly bedding his 24 year old girlfriend. This case was brought before the local council committee by a one David Ssekabira against his own son, Shafik Walusimbi.
According to Ssekabira, Walusimbi used forceful means to sleep with Christine Ndagire who in this case is the accused’s stepmother. While speaking to the LC Committee, Ndagire gave her own account of how everything ensued.
She accused her stepson of inviting her to his home through lies. However, the instant she got into his house, he forcefully penetrated her and she couldn’t tell her husband for fear of being chased away and getting embarrassed.
“When I arrived, he grabbed me by the neck and forced himself on me. I was too afraid to tell my husband because I didn’t want to face the shame,” a teary Ndagire narrated.
However, the accused denied any wrongdoing claiming that the intercourse was consensual.
“It was consensual. I did not force myself on her because she clearly agreed,” Walusimbi assertively defended himself.
In a more shocking revelation, the 30 year old stated that what he did was an act of revenge and retaliation against his father whom he accused of sleeping with his girlfriend.
Apparently, the case proved too big and complicated for the area chairman, Ssalongo Kamya who had nothing to do but forward the case to the Police. He said that he had failed to mediate over the matter as it was beyond his council’s jurisdiction.
The facts in this case were minimal as the matter seemed to be fuelled by anger, revenge and controversy. It’s not known how the Police will handle the case especially since the alleged victim, Ndagire, did not report the matter to the Police immediately which would have carried out a medical evaluation.
