Kole District Internal Security Officer (DISO) Simon Peter Musiila tragically lost his life in a fatal road accident that occurred on Monday evening in Kaduku 2 village, Masindi Port Sub-county, Kiryandongo District.

According to reports from Uganda Radio Network (URN), Musiila was driving a Toyota Hilux (registration number UG 4543C) when he lost control of the vehicle while navigating a sharp bend in Kaduku village. The vehicle subsequently veered off the road, overturned multiple times, and claimed Musiila’s life instantly.

At the time of the accident, Musiila was traveling alone from Masindi town to Masindi Port Ferry Station, en route to Kole District.

A local resident, Rogers Otwi, recounted hearing a loud bang and rushing to the accident scene. “We promptly notified the Kaduku police, who arrived swiftly to initiate investigations,” Otwi told URN.

Albertine Region Police Spokesperson Julius Hakiza confirmed the incident and stated that the deceased’s body had been transported to Kiryandongo General Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Preliminary investigations indicate that excessive speed may have contributed to the fatal crash. The wreckage of the vehicle has been impounded at Kaduku Police Station for further examination
