If there’s a TV station that gets dragged and called out on different social media platforms, it’s none other than NBS TV. The Naguru based TV station has found itself on the wrong side of netizens expectations severally. They took to social media to drag it for opting to ignore the fatal landslides in Bulambuli district in favor of singer Alien Skin’s Release.
The Sitya Danger was yesterday afternoon granted a cash bail of Shs 1 million. This was heavily publicized by different media stations including NBS TV. But for a company that has several other media outlets such as Sanyuka TV which predominantly cover gossip and entertainment, netizens believe that a national TV would have given coverage to the landslides.
“In Bulambuli landslides have killed 13 people and more than 40 houses covered.
Meanwhile NBS’s big story is Alien Skin’s release.”

The station has over time clashed with Ugandan social media users especially NUP supporters who believe that the station is biased towards their party. In fact this criticism was posted by a staunch NUP fanatic. They believe that NBS is the ‘weapon formed against them’ especially in regards to taking the ‘chair.’
Meanwhile the landslides in Bulambuli were caused by heavy torrential rains that lasted over 8 hours. This was in the remote hilly area of Bulanganya sub county. 15 people were confirmed dead while hundreds went missing although rescue teams are still searching for them.
However, important to note is that the incident in Bulambuli happened on Wednesday while Alien Skin was released a day after making it possible for the TV station to cover both events possible.
