Judge Kawesa Takes Charge of 35 Cases in Busia High Court Criminal Session

In a pre-session meeting held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, Hon. Justice Dr. Henry Isabirye Kawesa, Resident Judge of Tororo High Court, discussed plans for a criminal session involving 35 cases at Busia Chief Magistrates Court. The meeting was attended by representatives from various organizations, including the Uganda Police Force, Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, LC V Chairperson, Uganda Prisons Services, judicial officers, and members of the public.

All the cases scheduled for this month-long High Court session originated in Busia, demonstrating the commitment to providing legal services to the local community. The cases to be addressed during this session encompass a range of charges, including murder, aggravated defilement, and aggravated robbery (see table below).
