Seasoned politician and patron of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, UNMF, Captain Mike Mukula has intervened to facilitate discussions between artists Pallaso and Alien Skin in light of the increasing friction between them. On his X page, Mukula stated that he conducted productive reconciliation sessions with both singers.
These sessions were held separately; one was with Alien Skin alone while the other included Pallaso, accompanied by his parents, Gerald and Prossy Mayanja. The gathering took place at Mukula’s residence in Bugolobi and was characterized as making significant headway toward peace.
“As The Patron of Uganda musicians Association … I had an excellent reconciliation session with the musicians ALIEN SKIN separately and PALLASO accompanied by his Parents at my residence Bugolobi today and I am delighted to say that we are making great progress.”
It is important to note that tensions had escalated between the two artists, raising security concerns within the country. Their longstanding animosity, which dates back to 2022, flared up again during the recent festive season.
During an event at Forest Park, Buloba, there was a violent confrontation between the entourages of the two musicians, prompting police to fire shots to restore order. Following that incident, Pallaso invaded the residence of the Fangone Forest boss with a group armed with machetes and other weapons. This attack resulted in extensive property damage, including destruction of vehicles, windows, and doors, as well as inciting social disorder.
Public opinion had already begun to divide, carrying political undertones. The police response was minimal, merely issuing a caution to these artists who are accompanied by groups locally referred to as Eggaali, known for inciting unrest.
There has been considerable speculation that the Sitya Danger singer might retaliate, potentially leading to further damage and even loss of life. However, it is crucial to recognize Mukula’s involvement in addressing the issue before it grows worse.
