News has been spreading like wild fire this early morning about the tragic news of the passing of Kawempe North MP, Hon Muhammad Ssegirinya. It was announced that he passed away at Rubaga Hospital in the ICU.
A lot of people had already posted condolences messages and tributes with the news being widely reported. However there’s a new twist that shows that the MP has not yet been pronounced dead.
According to the National Unity Platform (NUP) president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine, the MP is not yet dead. Kyagulanyi said that MP is only brain dead as well as his other vital organs.
Bobi Wine added that when Ssegirinya’s mother was told that her son is braid dead, she immediately announced his death. However, he’s not yet declared dead and they are now hoping for a miracle.
“CLARIFICATION: According to the doctors,
Hon. Ssegirinya MUHAMMAD is brain dead, most of his organs have shut down but he is not yet declared dead. When the mother was told that, she immediately announced his passing. Our teams are on ground monitoring the situation, as we all PRAY FOR A MIRACLE,” wrote Bobi Wine.
However according to medical experts “Brain death is the irreversible end of all brain function, including the brain stem. It means that the person is legally dead and has no chance of recovery.”
Additionally, a person who is brain dead cannot breathe on their own nor can they regain consciousness. We shall however keep you updated as this story keeps developing.
