Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has dismissed as fake reports circulating on social media claiming that the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results will be released on Friday, January 17, 2025.
“Our attention has been drawn to a fake message circulating on social media stating that the 2024 PLE results will be released on Friday, 17th January 2025. Kindly ignore and disregard it,” UNEB stated Tuesday through its official X (formerly Twitter) account.
“An official date for the release will be communicated at the right time,” it added.
Reliable sources within UNEB informed The Ankole Times that the official release date for the 2024 PLE results will be announced soon, and, as is customary, the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Kataaha Museveni, is expected to officiate at the release ceremony.
Once the results are released, candidates will be able to access them through mobile Short Message Service (SMS) using the UNEB USSD code, and via the school examination centres on UNEB’s e-portal.
Additionally, hard copies will be available for collection at the UNEB offices in Ntinda.
At least 700,000 candidates sat for the PLE in November 2024, and the results are eagerly awaited as the new academic year is set to commence in February 2025.
The release of these results will provide crucial information for candidates transitioning to the next phase of their education.
