The Uganda National Examinations Board, UNEB announced the results of the 2024 Primary Leaving Exams, PLE, on January 23rd at an event held at State House Nakasero, which was attended by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataha Museveni.
The results contained various statistics, and in this document, we present the top-performing schools across all districts in the country.
Students from these institutions achieved aggregates of 4-5 and were the highest achievers in their schools. It is important to mention that UNEB indicated a slight improvement in performance compared to 2023.
Additionally, boys outperformed girls, even though they represented a smaller proportion of the total candidates. UNEB also disclosed that 84,301 pupils attained a First Grade. Grade Two saw the highest number of students, followed by Grades Three and Four, with 64,251 learners not receiving any grades.
While there was a minor decline in the number of Division One students, UNEB reported that the overall pass percentage was better than in 2023. Consistent with trends over the years, schools located in Central Uganda, including Wakiso, Kampala, Masaka, and Mukono, showcased the best-performing institutions.
Some of the top schools featured include Kampala Parents, Mother Manjeri Primary School, Kabojja Junior School, and Nabbunga Fountains of Education, among others. Below is the list of the highest-achieving pupils from each district in the 2024 PLE Exams.
