Government Chief Whip Hon. Denis Hamson Obua, also the MP for Ajuri County, Alebtong District, while speaking on a radio station in Lira City on January 27th, 2025, sent a message to the public mobilizing for the visit of H.E the President.
Obua, on behalf of the National Organizing Committee, stated that the President will be in the Lango sub-region for his zonal tour from Tuesday to Friday this week.
He mentioned that on Monday at 4:00 PM, the National Organizing Committee will meet stakeholders at Lira City Council. This meeting will comprise selected categories of stakeholders, including Ministers, MPs in Lango, RDCs, RCCs, DISOs, LCV Chairpersons, Mayors, and selected local leaders, among others.
H.E the President shall be touring the Lango sub-region from Tuesday to Friday this week. On Tuesday, he will visit the Amolatar PDM model farmer and Kole and Lira districts as per the scheduled day-one program of his visit on January 28th, 2025. H.E will then proceed to Baralege State Lodge the same day.
He will also visit the Presidential Skilling Hub on Wednesday and proceed to Kwania District to meet with selected leaders from the entire Lango sub-region. A joint memorandum of the Lango sub-region will be presented to him during this meeting.
The categories of leaders who shall meet the President in Kwania include: Ministers, MPs, RDCs, LC5 Lango sub-region, all District NRM League Chairpersons, CAOs, District Heads of Departments, LCV District Councilors, District Commercial Officers, OWC Coordinators, Chairpersons of Districts, Cities, and Divisions, NRM Chairpersons, City/Division NRM DECs, City/Division Town Clerks, Municipality NRM Chairpersons, League Chairpersons, Sub-County LC3 Chairpersons, NRM Chairpersons, Sub-County Chiefs, RPCs, RISOs, RCCs, City Police Commander, DPCs, DISOs, and five religious leaders per district, among others.
A total of 1,135 representatives of the Lango sub-region shall converge in Kwania to be addressed by H.E the President. In addition, media representatives will also meet and interact with the President on a date yet to be communicated.
However, Government Chief Whip Denis Hamson Obua stated that they are still awaiting confirmation from the protocol team on whether His Excellency the President will visit the Barlonyo Memorial Attack Site and lay a foundation stone at the Akii-bua Stadium Olympic Construction Site on Friday, awaiting confirmation from the State House protocol team.
The Alebtong LCV Chairman, DK Odongo, stated that he expects to request the President to uplift the standard of Alebtong Health Center IV to a district hospital.
He also plans to request support for electricity in Adwir and Angeta Sub-Counties, a tarmac road from Bar-Aloi, and address the issue of unpaid war claimants, among others.
The Kwania LCV Chairman, Godfrey Ogwal Adyebo, demands that the issue of the Ikwera Girls Secondary School bus be addressed to H.E the President, as the lorry meant for the school was destroyed some time ago. He lamented that a new ferry for Nambieso to Abeja is needed for easy transport in the area.
The President will have a rally at Alanyi Primary School.
