The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) will brief the Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni, today, ahead of the release of the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results.
Sources within UNEB indicate that the briefing will precede the official release of the results on Friday, February 7th, at 11 a.m. at State House Nakasero. This is the second set of national examination results to be released this year, following the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results in January.
The UCE results are eagerly awaited by students, parents, and educators nationwide. The results will determine students’ academic pathways, with those performing well eligible to proceed to Advanced Level education.
This year’s UCE exams marked a historic shift, as candidates were assessed under the new lower secondary curriculum for the first time. To facilitate the transition, candidates took two sets of exams: one under the new curriculum and a “transition examination.”
UNEB’s theme for the 2024 exams, “Embracing Security and Holistic Assessment of Learners in a Dynamic Environment,” reflects the board’s commitment to adapting to the evolving educational landscape.
