The Umukuka III of the Bamasaba people, His Highness Jude Mike Mudoma, has congratulated all the learners, teachers, and headteachers in Masabaland for their excellent performance in the just-concluded UCE exams.
The spokesperson for the Bamasaba, Hon. Steven Masiga, revealed this in a statement to Daily Express.
Hon. Masiga said that His Highness, the Umukuka, will soon embark on his annual tour of Bugisu schools to congratulate the leadership on these excellent results and, above all, to ensure continuous performance.
Some of the schools in Bugisu that performed excellently in the just-concluded results include Mbale High School, Nyondo SSS, Mulatsi SSS, Nakaloke SSS, Mbale SSS, Nabumali SSS, Bulucheke SSS, Bubulo Girls, Mbale Deaf SSS, Bubyangu SSS, Masaba SSS, and Magale SSS, among others.
The spokesperson of the cultural institution, Steven Masiga, said the Umukuka will visit all schools in Masabaland to mobilize them to maintain their momentum. “As a cultural institution, we have a duty to ensure that we reach every school in Masabaland and beyond.
During such visits, we shall assess the general performance in various schools that were not mentioned above, as we don’t have a clear record of each school’s performance.”
While appreciating the students, parents, and school leadership for the improved performance, Masiga emphasized that the work is not done. “We don’t want them to relax. The education cycle is longer than O’Level.
There is A’Level, university, and tertiary level. All these levels must be completed,” he highlighted.
“We shall also cross to Bungoma, Kenya, to continue our cultural monitoring of schools across the entire Masabaland territory, whether in Uganda or Kenya,” Masiga added.
