They say a house without a solid foundation is bound to crumble. As Uganda’s political landscape continues to shift, the People Power Front (PPF), a new political party set to be launched soon, is fortifying its legal foundation by appointing a seasoned legal mind to steer its affairs.
During a promotional assembly on February 10, 2025, the party elected Counsel Hadad Salim as the Interim Head of Legal Affairs, a move that signals PPF’s commitment to structured leadership and legal excellence.
His appointment follows Article 25(3) of the party’s constitution, positioning him on the Steering Committee for Legal Affairs until the first National People’s Assembly (NPA) convenes to elect a permanent leadership.
With this role, Counsel Hadad
Salim is expected to provide critical legal guidance, ensuring the party’s compliance with established frameworks while representing PPF in key legal discussions.
His leadership comes at a pivotal time as the People Power Front continues to cement its place in Uganda’s political space, championing unity, inclusiveness, and alternative governance.
In a statement, Spartan Achilles Mukagyi, the Acting Secretary General, welcomed Hadad Salim, expressing confidence in his expertise and vision. “His leadership will play a crucial role in shaping our legal and strategic direction,” Mukagyi noted.
This appointment signals a defining moment for PPF, as it positions itself not just as a political movement but as a structured force prepared to navigate the complex legal and governance landscape.
