The late city mogul BMK may not find peace in death, as his hard-earned fortune is poised to end up in the hands of individuals who are not even relatives, following the Court of Appeal in Kampala’s decision to dismiss an application by his son, Ali Kibirige Muwanga, who is the executor of BMK’s estate.

Muwanga aimed to prevent the sale of a UGX 10 billion prime property in Buziga, Makindye Division in Kampala.

The disputed property, situated on block 273, plot 46, Mulambula Road, was seized by Yako Bank Ltd as part of a debt recovery effort, while Muwanga claimed that his previous legal counsel did not provide adequate guidance on essential legal processes.

In his bid to challenge a High Court decision that rejected his objections to the property’s sale, Muwanga requested an extension to file an appeal, which was subsequently denied, and now the lenders are seeking new buyers.

Many Ugandans were taken aback when BMK’s WILL named the wife of Gen Jim Muhwezi as one of the individuals who would inherit the property after his demise.
