Mafabi stated, "Lukwago has never contributed a shilling. I hear him say this party is his. He came in 2020. There is a demand that mayors pay UGX 200,000 to the party monthly. He has never paid for it. I don't know if 2020 is an equivalent of 2004."

Lukwago’s Contribution to FDC Questioned by Mafabi

In a recent statement, Nathan Nandala Mafabi, the Secretary General of the Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), expressed doubts about Erias Lukwago’s financial contributions to the party. Mafabi revealed that Lukwago, who serves as the party’s vice president for the Central Region, has never made any monetary contributions to FDC.

Mafabi’s remarks came following Lukwago’s alignment with Katonga and his disassociation from the leadership at Najjanankumbi.

During a delegates conference held in Lugogo on Friday, Mafabi pointed out that he had heard Lukwago referring to FDC as his party. However, he questioned this claim, highlighting that as the Mayor, Lukwago is expected to contribute UGX 200,000 to the party monthly. According to Mafabi, there has been no record of any such contribution from Lukwago.

Mafabi stated, “Lukwago has never contributed a shilling. I hear him say this party is his. He came in 2020. There is a demand that mayors pay UGX 200,000 to the party monthly. He has never paid for it. I don’t know if 2020 is an equivalent of 2004.”
