An unidentified man’s body was discovered on Tuesday, 11th March 2025, floating in River Mucha, which connects Lake Mulehe to Lake Mutanda in Kiraro Village, Rwingwe Parish, Nyakabande Sub-County, Kisoro District.
According to Kisoro District Police Commander Ben Niwamanya Kashumbusha, police received an alert from residents of Kararo at around 1:00 PM on Tuesday about a lifeless body seen floating in the river. Officers from Kisoro Police Station responded swiftly and retrieved the body.
The deceased was found wearing a red T-shirt, a white coat, and black jeans. The body has since been transported to Kisoro Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Police are urging the public, especially anyone with information that could help identify the deceased, to visit Kisoro Hospital.
