His Royal Highness Mwogezi Butamanya, the cultural leader of the Baruli people, is in Masaabaland at the invitation of the Bamasaaba cultural leader, His Highness Jude Mike Mudoma.
This was revealed to this publication by the spokesperson of Inzu Ya Masaaba, Mr. Steven Masiga, who said, “As Bamasaaba, we are honored to have His Highness the Sebaruli in our midst.”
The Buruli cultural leader is the outgoing chairman of all cultural leaders and kings in Uganda. As his tenure is coming to an end, it is procedurally right for His Highness to bid farewell to the Bamasaaba people. “As a community and cultural institution, we are deeply indebted to His Highness for such a gesture,” Mr. Masiga emphasized.
The Buruli cultural leader arrived in Bugisu with his delegation and was received by His Highness the Umukuka III of the Bamasaaba people, Jude Mike Mudoma, in Maluku today.
Other notable leaders from Masaabaland, including clan chairmen and Inzu Ya Masaaba ministers, were in attendance.
Notable attendees included the LC V Chairman of Bududa District, Mr. Kamoti Wasunguyi, who represented other district chairmen, and the Minister for Culture in Inzu Ya Masaaba, Hon. Moses Kutoi, and Reverend Titus Kutosi, an Inzu Ya Masaaba minister, among others.
