Rukiga District , Uganda – Young people from Muhanga Town Council in Rukiga District have shared powerful testimonies about the positive impact of a youth empowerment project spearheaded by Dr. Sylvia Arineitwe, the district’s aspiring Woman Member of Parliament.
Speaking to Eye Television, beneficiaries such as Elius Akandinda, Justus Niwahereza, and Doroth Ayebazibwe praised the initiative for helping them start small businesses, invest in agriculture, and pay school fees for their children. They commended Dr. Sylvia as the first leader to offer genuine and tangible support for youth development in the area.
The project’s coordinator, Mr. Josephant Mubanjizi, applauded Dr. Sylvia for her commitment to empowering young people and helping steer them away from crime and idleness. He noted that the project has not only uplifted livelihoods but also instilled a renewed sense of purpose and responsibility among the youth.
Rukiga District Assistant Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Gibs Barigayomwe urged the beneficiaries to use the resources responsibly and strive to maximize their impact. He also commended Dr. Sylvia’s dedication to transforming Rukiga District through meaningful, youth-centered initiatives.
